Please send me your layouts and a link to the sites that you have them posted at when you use the products that were provided for the goody bags and the doorprizes! Posting them here is beneficial to everyone, and don't forget that some of our sponsors have online forums for you to post at as well! It gives both the designers and the manufacturers exposure, and I know that some of the manufacturers are looking to add people to their design teams or to build a team. This is a great way to show them what you can do with their stuff! The magazines want to see what you are doing with this too, so submit submit submit! Let me know when you get something picked up and we will create a post just for publication lists.

Kim is so impressive! She had a layout using her goody bag products made within a few hours of being home!! This one is posted at Two Peas.

I worked on an assignment right before CHA, and I ended up using products from several of our sponsors... Prima, Pressed Petals, Creative Impressions, Fiber Scraps, Gin X, and Deluxe Designs. I ended up with very few pictures from the dinner last night, but my friend Kim took this one on my camera so I can share it! If you have photos uploaded somewhere, let me know and we will add the link here.

Thank you all so much for coming and participating! We ended up having approximately 350 people there last night!

There are some people I really want to thank who went out of their way to help make this all happen! There was no way Jessie and I could have pulled this off without the help these people gave us! (A special thanks to you Jessie, for doing all you did to make this come together!)

Chris Jenkins was a major support system during the whole planning of this dinner! She let me bounce ideas off of her, came up with some brilliant ideas of her own, took care of all the graphic design work, helped pack up products for the bags and helped stuff the bags, came clear across town to help get all the goody bags and doorprizes to the show, and was just a really good friend through everything!

May Flaum spent an entire week helping me get the contact info for manufacturers together and then helping to email them the invitations to participate in the dinner.

Kim Mattina and Carol Banks left the show early and came over to my house to help bring all the bags to the dinner. I have known these two for a while now, and it was so wonderful to finally get to meet them in person! They also helped to get everybody checked in and pass out bags and doorprizes.

Tina Freeman, Kim Hughes, Cynthia Roybal, Grace Lum, Kitty Foster, Sarah Murphy (who also came over to help stuff bags), and Sarah McNaughton were there early to help get everything set up and then checked people in and passed out bags and prizes. They spent most of the night helping out, and that was really generous of them!

We had Molly Newman and Lin Sorenson from Simple Scrapbooks, Ana Cabrera from Scrapbook Answers, Sarah Kelly from Memory Makers, and Stacy Julian from The Big Picture all stop by and show their support, and I thank them all for that! I know they were all exhausted from the show, and we really appreciate the fact they took time to come by and be a part of this dinner!

I also want to send out thanks to Wendy McKeehan, Tricia from Scrapbook.com, Shirley from the Scrapbook Stand, and Wendy from Queen and Co for being so darn nice! Thank you to all of you who participated in the thank you gift for us... that was so kind of you!

If I have forgotten anybody, please know it is from a lack of sleep and not a lack of gratitude! I hope everybody had a good time, and I can't wait to see all your pictures from the dinner!

I have some more manufacturers to add to the links who either gave us doorprizes at the show or brought them to the dinner, so I will be posting again later. I don't know about all of you, but I am nervous as all get out! The dinner is only a few hours away, and we are getting ready to load up all the bags and doorprizes and head over to decorate the room a bit. I hope everyone has a great time, even if we are a bit squeezed into the room!

Doorprizes galore

I went to the show today and picked up several of the doorprizes. I just finished sorting all of them out and packaging them up, and we have a total of 31 prizes so far worth a minimum of $100 each. Some are worth quite a bit more than that!

The dinner is 48 hours away, and there is still some of the stuffing to do and some other final details. It is going to be one very full restaurant, but I am really looking forward to seeing everybody! I will get some pictures posted right afterwards!

Ignore the counter!

That counter has the wrong date set to it apparently! The dinner is Tuesday at 7:30 pm in The Buffet at the Hilton!! Please don't panic and think we changed the date at the last minute!! Please, when you arrive, let the hostesses know you are willing to share any empty seats at your tables with any other dinner attendees. We are going to be filling that dining room up!

We are finishing up all the last minute stuff and I am working on the paperwork details right now. Tomorrow (Sunday) I am heading to the show to pick up several doorprizes from the individual booths, and packaging them all up when I get home. It has been a busy weekend with some really unexpected twists and turns, but it looks like everything is coming together!

A sea of bags

Chris and Jessie came over today, and we worked on getting the bags stuffed. This picture was taken approximately halfway through. Tomorrow we are finishing up stuffing, and getting everything organized and ready to go.

I have not had a chance to take pictures and post about all the boxes that arrived yesterday. All of the products I mentioned in the last post were there, as well as pins from Leave Memories, papers, stickers, diecuts and rub-ons from Paper House, coupons and bracelets from Scrapbook.com, kits from Moments Defined, and doorprizes from Paper House, Art Declassified, and Same Differences. I will get pictures up by tomorrow (I guess that would be tonight)

If you have emailed me, I will answer by this evening. If you want to come to the dinner without an RSVP you are more than welcome to, but all of the goody bags are spoken for. You can still enter the doorprize drawings, though.

Yesterday I received boxes from:
The Scrapbook Stand with several of these fun kits for doorprizes,
Bluegrass Publishing with Thena's Whispers books,
from Deluxe Designs with the three Pages By Design systems for doorprizes,
and more from Deluxe Designs with lots of different Jumbo Laser Simplicities for the goody bags,
and from Paper Heart Studios with piles and piles of lovely papers for the goody bags.

Just as I was sitting down to try to make this update, my friendly UPS guy showed up with 19 more boxes. Here he is buried under them. (My UPS guy is great... always says hi to the kids, pets the dogs, and puts the boxes wherever I need them.)

From a quick glance, I can see that the bags are here, the Paper Salon papers, the Queen and Co goodies, the Paper House Productions products, and probably more. I will probably have to wait until tomorrow or really late tonight to get those pictures up.
This is what my living room looks like right now. The kitchen is pretty much identical to it.
And this is my coffee table covered with papers that Jack and I are collating tonight after we get home from taking the kids to their activities.

I know a lot of you are getting ready to fly into town tomorrow and Saturday. Have a safe trip! I will add some more updates this weekend anyway!

Chatterbox and A2Z Essentials~

Yesterday afternoon I received the boxes from Chatterbox with these doorprizes! (I had to recharge my camera battery before I could take pictures!) Thank you Christy!

The mailman just hand delivered sox more boxes as well, so I will have some more photos by this evening!

Memories in Uniform and Provo Craft

I have to laugh everytime the Fed Ex or UPS trucks show up. Before they get out they have to line up all the boxes they are unloading. Fed Ex has already come by twice today bearing gifts!

The first set of boxes was from Amy at Memories in Uniform. She sent these military themed rub-ons for the goody bags attached to jelly beans! On the front of each package is information on her endorsement policy, so make sure you keep track of your packaging!

Alicia at Provo Craft sent these handheld stamp sets for the bags as well! The entire alphabet is on each strip, so you can stamp out anything you need to spell.

I have to send some thank yous out to my husband, who came home from work last night and spent four hours helping me collate 20 piles of paper with 250 sheets each. He is taking Monday off of work as well so I can finish up last minute stuff... love ya Babe!

I have other people to thank as well, but I am saving that for a seperate post. I will be back with some more updates soon!

Jodi at Fancy Pants Designs has sent paper kits for the bags full of her new releases. I love that the papers are double-sided, so I took pictures of both sides for you!

Patricia at Fiber Scraps sent four doorprizes with these gorgeous sets of her new papers made to match the EZ Walnut Ink Tints, and with each set of papers comes a complete set of the tints!

Holly at Scrapboook Resumes is giving ten one year memberships or renewals to her resume site for doorprizes, and all of the bags will receive a coupon for $3 off a one year membership!

I have a few updates for you tonight!

This morning brought the Fed Ex guy to my door with nine boxes! Some of those boxes were from Sugarloaf Products. These are the stamp sets and the huge doorprize Dixie described in the post called Mail Time!

This first picture is of the different stamp sets for the goody bags. There are will be one of these packages in each bag, and I love that they all come with a clear mounting block as well! There are coupons on the front of every single one of these packages of stamps for you to take to the booth to get another stamp sample!

These next two pictures are just part of that huge awesome doorprize! The first is the stamping pad (I love this pad!), the mounting blocks, and the inkpad storage case full of inkpads! The second photo shows some of the stamps that are part of that prize. I am picking another portion of them up at the show, and then the rest of the new set will be sent to the winner!

The other boxes were full of these papers from Grassroots.All of the bags are going to have one sheet each of all thirteen of these designs!!
I took this next picture just so you could see just how much paper that is! (I am in the process of collating it now.)

I ran out of room in my scraproom to work! There is still more in there I haven't added to these boxes yet!

Finalized Details

Hello everyone,

I am emailing this to all of the email addresses I have on the RSVP list today as well, but I have to get the email function to cooperate before it can go out. I am posting it here, and if you know of anybody who needs to see it, please feel free to copy and paste it to forward. I just had nine more boxes show up, and UPS hasn't been here yet, so I will be back on in a little while with some more photo updates. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please email and let me know. Thank you so much!

The CHA Designer Dinner is barely a week away, so I wanted to send out a quick update so everybody knows how everything will be set up!

The dinner is being held in The Buffet at the Hilton Hotel and Casino, which is right next to the Las Vegas Convention Center. If you are not staying at the Hilton, and do not have a car to drive, there is a monorail system that runs through most of downtown, and there are new double decker shuttles that go up and down the strip, so it is easy to work out transportation!

Our dinner reservation begins at 7:30. It is held under the name “Designer Dinner.” There is a small room in the back of the dining hall that will hold 70 people. The hostesses are trying to work with us as much as possible to try to sit all of the rest of our group together in the main dining hall. However, the dining hall holds 400 people, and our RSVP list has over 300, so I am positive it will not be difficult to mingle easily in both rooms.

We will have the check in table set up in the smaller back room. When you arrive at the buffet, you will need to go through the dinner line and pay at the register. After you have been seated please come and sign in. The first 250 people who RSVP’d will have goody bags labeled, and inside will be your name badge and your doorprize entry. (Please note that the goody bags do not all have the same product inside.) Everybody else who RSVP’d after the 250 mark will have name badges and doorprize entries ready as well. We are only giving the goody bags to the people whose names are on those bags. If somebody who has RSVP’d does not attend the dinner, the bag will be going to a designer at the dinner who did not receive one. We are going to be very busy trying to get everybody checked in, so please do not ask for special exceptions. We tried to come up with a plan that was as fair as possible.

Since we will not have a microphone system to work with, and we are spread out throughout two rooms, we won’t have any official announcements. We will be drawing names for the doorprizes at approximately 9:00. There will be a board in the backroom where we will post the winners and their prizes. Please check before you leave to see if you won anything! There are a few doorprizes that are being mailed directly to the winner from the manufacturers, but the majority of the prizes will be there at the dinner and need to be claimed the night of the dinner. Any unclaimed prizes will be put back into the drawing at 10:30. The dinner hall closes at 11pm.

Our goody bag and door prize sponsors have been incredible with their generosity. The products being provided are worth thousands of dollars. They have provided these items with the expectation that you will use them in a way that brings recognition to their product. By accepting a goody bag, you agree to use these products in upcoming publication opportunities, and in public message forums. When you use these products in publications or post layouts online with them, please make sure the manufacturers of the products are properly credited. It is the best way we as designers can thank these manufacturers for participating in our dinner!

I am also willing to post layouts and projects you have made with the products on the blog. The dinner blog has been a great way to share information, so we may as well use it as a tool for further advertising for the manufacturers and sharing ideas for these products!

This is an incredible opportunity to meet and mingle with designers, manufacturers, and editors from across the country. The designers at this dinner are coming from message boards and companies all over the country, and some are even coming from outside of the US. We look forward to seeing all of you, and we hope everybody has a great time at the dinner!

I received two big boxes of these great products from Ginger at Gin-X. I had to break it all up into sections to take the pictures! The first one shows the coasters, the second one is of all the rub-ons and stickers, and the third one is a sampling of the HUGE pile of papers that arrived!These are all getting split up into the goody bags, so everybody will have something a little different! I know that Thena Smith is well-loved on 2peas and as her publisher, we know why. Because of her long standing on the message board and the many friends she has there, I would like to donate one of her books for each of the 250 bags, along with a couple of other surprises and a few door prizes, too. Name Badges

My friend Chris has done a beautiful job with the name badges for everybody! When you get to the dinner and check in, there will be one on your goody bag to label it, and then there will be two inside. One is to wear at the dinner, and the other is to drop in the doorprize box.

Now, a lot of you who are Peas decided to change your screennames after you RSVP'd with your old screennames. Yep... you know who you are! For the dinner, though, you are sort of stuck with whichever name you were using when you RSVP'd... :0)

And this is PSA type thing for those of you who are coming from the TwoPeas board. The Peas in general are planning on wearing green ribbons on their badgeholders, and Pubsters are planning on wearing a pink ribbon as well.

I am working on the finalized update plans, and I will post and email that next week. I am taking the rest of the weekend off to finish my Hall of Fame entry since mail isn't running for the next few days anyway. I will be checking emails, but I probably won't be posting until Tuesday. Have a great weekend everyone!

Around the Block

Personal Scrapper sent three of their gorgeous fall kits for door prizes! I opened one up so you could see everything in it, and it includes a full color sheet of pages ideas to use with the kit!

I was having a telephone conversation with Carla from Paper Salon yesterday, and in the course of the conversation she asked me what I needed the most to finish putting this dinner together. I told her I needed bags to actually bag all these products that are overflowing in my scraproom.

Today she called me back to tell me that Paper Salon's parent company, dginventive, is sending us these gorgeous bags to fill! Here is part of the email she sent me after our conversation.

I really apologize for the poor photo on this. The papers are in their packages, and then shrinkwrapped, which is great for shipping and distributing, but not so great for photos! I didn't want to open one up and risk damaging or losing any of the papers, though! Grafix sent three sets of these for door prizes! Here is the note the printed on top of them.

Crossing the 250 Threshold

Hi everyone,

We have hit the 250 mark on the combined RSVP lists. At this point, I will still take RSVPs for dinner so we can make a name badge and door prize entry for you, but we are clean out of goody bags!

The response to this event has been overwhelming! I am working on finishing up the email list, and in a week or so I will send out an email and post here on the blog with all of the finalized details including what to do when you get there to claim your goody bag.

I am also going to keep updating with photos and descriptions of the doorprize and goody bag products as they arrive. Our manufacturers have been very generous with the products they have provided for the bags and doorprizes. Please leave some feedback for them here on the blog so they can see some of your responses!

I received a boxful of these bags of products from Creative Impressions yesterday! There are 25 bags each of 8 different combinations of colors/themes, full of wonderful samples of ribbons and metal embellishments! I picked my two favorite sets to take photos of for the blog. Our first goody bag and door prize donations have begun to arrive!

I had to answer the door in my jammies this morning to get ahold of these lovely Maya Road products, but it was worth it! Maya Road sent us a sampling of their ribbons and ricracs, and enough of their huge bottlecaps for everybody to get 2!

ScraPerfect sent us these printing pouches that make printing on vellum and other treated papers a dream!

I just wanted to update and let everybody know that we have hit the 200 mark on our RSVP list.

You can still RSVP for the dinner, and even just show up for the dinner if you want to, but I don't have any goodie bags left. I am going to try to get something together for everybody else who RSVPs after this point, and everybody will still be able to enter the drawing for the awesome door prizes we are getting. I am keeping track of the post-200 RSVP's, and if anybody cancels their spot, I will move you up to the top 200 in the order that you RSVP'd.

Hello ladies and gentlemen!

As of right this moment, I have 200 people RSVP'd for our dinner. I have compiled an alphabetical list of everybody on that list. Please take a moment to make sure your name is on this list if it is supposed to be. If you see your first name, but not your last name, (especially if your name is Jen.... LOL)I would recommend emailing me with your full name and your email address and screenname so I can compare it to the list and make sure you are on it. You don't have to be RSVPd to attend the dinner, but you do have to be on that list to receive a goodie bag. (email me at chawinterbash@yahoo.com)

We made arrangements to have 200 goodie bags, and those will be going to the first 200 people who RSVP. Everybody who RSVPs before the dinner will be entered in the drawing for door prizes at the dinner.

I want to thank the ladies who have stepped forward to help out with the dinner. You will be hearing more about them, but right now I want Chris, Heather, Lara, May, and Roxanne to know that we really appreciate them helping to make this all come together!

Helping Hands Needed

Hello everyone!

I have responded to all of the emails and posts that I have received up until today. If you didn’t get an email response from me, please re-send the email to make sure I received it.

I need some help, and I am hoping a few kind souls will volunteer to help pull this dinner together! I have broken the things I need to get done down into a few simple jobs.
For a couple of people, it can be a bit overwhelming, but with a few different helping hands it is very feasible.

Here are the positions I need volunteers for. I must warn you that the pay is minimal...okay, non-existant, but you will have our everlasting thanks… :0)

1. I need somebody who will help me sign people up for the email yahoogroup I have set up. I already have the email addresses on a spread sheet. All you have to do is copy and paste them to make everybody a member of the group. What makes this slightly tedious is that there is a limit to how many you can auto subscribe in a 24 hour period.

2. I need somebody who can help make name badges for everybody print-ready. Again, all the info is in a database already. It just needs to be copied over to make individual badges and labels for goodie bags.

3. I need 2-3 people who will help us research manufacturer contact info and send the invitation to them. The invitation is ready to be emailed, and I have an easy-to-use system set up for this to avoid sending multiple invitations to manufacturers. We don’t want to get on their nerves… LOL.

4. I need two people at the dinner who will help keep track of door-prizes. This is going to include checking in the prizes that are being delivered to the dinner, making sure the names are drawn and recorded, distributing the prizes to the winners, and then making sure I have all the pertinent info on who won, especially since some of the prizes that are being donated will be shipped directly to the winners.

5. I will need at least two people to help pass out badges and goodie bags to everybody who has RSVP’d.

One of the other things we need are actual bags to use for the goodie bags. If anybody has any sources you would like to share, please email us. We need 200 of them.

We have almost 150 people RSVPd already! That buffet is going to be one loud and busy place come January 31st! We are looking forward to seeing all of you!

A quick update!

Hi everyone!

We have over 100 people RSVPd for this dinner already!

If you have not sent me your name, your email address, and if applicable your screenname, then I need it! I also need it for anybody you may be reserving for!

We are going to try to avoid some of the goodie bag issues that have happened in the past. The goodie bags are going to be labelled, and are only going to the person who is on that label. If you sent me an email that said something along the lines of "this is my name plus I am coming with one other person" then that other person does not have a bag reserved yet! I need names! :-)

There have been some questions about the buffet cost. The price is the same whether you drink beer or wine or not. Those are included in the buffet, just like the salad bar or dessert bar, but there are other beverages available as well. You will pay at the door when you get there, so I don't need anybody to send money to me for dinner now.

I will be printing name badges for everybody who is RSVPd, so you might want to bring your badge holders if you don't want to use a safety pin.

We have a location!

I just got done confirming our dining room with The Buffet at the Hilton. The dinner is going to be held at The Buffet in the Hilton (next to the convention center) at 7:30 pm, Tuesday, January 31, 2006. It is going to cost about $21 a person, which includes tax, gratuity, and beer and wine with dinner. I set the reservation up under the company name "Designer Dinner" to make it easy for everyone to find us!

Several manufacturers have already emailed us to offer sponsorhip prizes for the goodie bags and door prizes! Thank you very much! We are sending out requests, but if you already know you want to donate, or know somebody who does, please contact us and we will get the information to the right people!

Getting Going!

Wow! We already have over 70 people signed up for sure for this dinner, and several who are likely coming! It is going to be a fun night!

Several manufacturers have already contacted us about making donations for the goodie bags! I will be adding links to the sidebar for all the manufacturers who sponsor prizes for us. Keep checking back, because I am also going to be posting pictures as those boxes start arriving!

As soon as I have confirmation on the location for the dinner, I will add that to the sidebar as well.

In the meantime, we have a yahoo read-only email group set up so we can send email updates to everybody who confirms they are coming. This dinner is open to anybody who wants to come, whether you are a designer, a manufacturer, or somebody who is in the area and wants to join.
